It Started With Him
If someone asked me why I started B's Wax Candle Co., they might expect me to talk about wax, fragrances, or my love for candles.
While those things matter, they aren't where this story begins.
This story begins with my grandpa.

Growing up, spending time with my grandfather was one of my favorite things. Every morning, before the day began, he would brew a fresh pot of coffee. Long before I ever opened my eyes, the smell of freshly brewed coffee would fill the house. It became the scent of comfort, love, and home.
As a little girl, I was fascinated by it.
Every morning, I would ask if I could have a cup. Every time, cigarette in one hand and cup of coffee in the other, he would smile and tell me I was too little.
One day he finally gave in. Filling a small cup of lukewarm coffee with more cream and sugar than coffee, and slid it over to me. Telling me it was our little secret.
That simple cup of coffee became our tradition. We would sit together in the quiet on the mornings I stayed with him sharing conversation, laughter, and a mildly warm cup of coffee. Looking back, it wasn't really about the coffee at all. It was about being together.
Before he passed he had the opportunity to see my dream become a reality. To no surprise, his favorite was my “Fresh Brew”! If I'm being honest, I'm still not the biggest coffee drinker.
But I absolutely love the smell of coffee.
The Power of Scent and Memory
I would buy coffee-scented candles, wax melts, soaps or anything that carries that familiar fragrance. Not because I crave coffee, but because I crave what it represents.
The moment I smell it, I'm no longer standing in my kitchen.
I'm a little girl again, sitting beside my granddad.
That is the power of scent.
A single fragrance can move us across decades. It can bring back a smile we've forgotten, remind us of someone we've loved, or return us to a place where we felt safe, happy, and loved.
That realization became the purpose of B's Wax Candle Co.
Why I Started Making My Own Candles
Although I loved candles, I began noticing that many of the ones I enjoyed would leave me or my children with headaches or feeling uncomfortable. That pushed me to look more closely at what was actually in the products I was bringing into our home. The more I researched waxes, fragrances, and other candle ingredients, the more intentional I became about choosing what I felt comfortable burning around my family, especially with sensitivities and allergies in mind.
As a mom of six kids, most who have allergies, I began paying close attention to everything I brought into our home. I read ingredient labels, researched products, and wanted to create a healthier environment for my family.
So I started making my own.

At first, it was just for my home.
Then friends and family began asking for them.
Before long, what started as a personal project became something bigger than I ever imagined.
But the mission never changed.
We don't just pour candles. We create moments.
Every fragrance is an opportunity to tell a story.
Every candle is an invitation to slow down.
Every candle-making experience is a chance to gather with the people you love and create moments you'll carry with you long after the wax is gone.

We Don’t Just Pour Candles, We Create Memories.
My hope is that years from now, someone lights one of our candles and immediately remembers a birthday celebration, a girls' night, a bridal shower, a family gathering, or just an ordinary Tuesday evening spent laughing around the table.
Because one day, those ordinary moments become the memories we treasure most.
My grandfather probably never imagined that sharing a simple cup of coffee with his granddaughter would one day inspire an entire business.

But it did.
And today, every candle we pour carries that same hope, that fragrance has the power to preserve the moments that matter most.
Thank you for allowing B's Wax Candle Co. to become a small part of your story. I hope that every time you light one of our candles, you're reminded not only of a beautiful fragrance, but of a beautiful memory.
